Michael Gismondi

Profile

Michael Gismondi is a partner at Peck and Company. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and the Federal Court of Canada. Michael has represented people facing criminal allegations ranging from mischief to sexual assault and murder. Michael has also represented corporate clients facing investigations into workplace fatalities. In addition, Michael has represented clients before various administrative and regulatory bodies including the Parole Board of Canada, RoadSafetyBC, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Michael joined Peck and Company as a summer student in 2011, and he went on to complete his articles at the firm in 2012-2013. After a short stint in civil litigation, Michael returned to Peck and Company in 2015. Since then, Michael has focused on providing clients with focused, discreet, and detail-oriented advice aimed at early resolution when possible and trial when necessary.

Michael is an active member of the legal community with a particular interest in mentorship. He is a volunteer principal at the UBC Criminal Clinic, a volunteer coach for the UBC Peter Burns Moot competition, and a member of the organizing committee for the annual CDAS Criminal Law Boot Camp. As well, Michael volunteers with Access Pro Bono’s Summary Advice Program, and he is the author of a chapter in the Canadian Legal Information Institute’s Criminal Law eBook.
