Casandra Tam is an associate at Peck and Company. She was called to the bar in 2020.

Casandra is an experienced trial lawyer who has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Territorial Court of Yukon. She has represented clients in a broad range of criminal matters, including large-scale drug trafficking operations, driving fatalities, sexual offences, and homicides. Her practice also includes the litigation of complex Charter issues.

Casandra is also occasionally retained by the B.C. Prosecution Service to serve as an ad hoc Crown prosecutor. This experience provides her with valuable insight into the perspectives and practices of both the prosecution and defence.

Casandra has been with Peck and Company since the early stages of her legal career. She joined the firm as a summer intern in 2017 following her first year of law school and returned as a summer student in 2018. She subsequently completed her articles with the firm.

Casandra earned her Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University. During law school, she competed in the McIntyre Cup Moot and received the Dean’s Course Prize for her performance. She served as an editor of the Canadian Journal of Comparative and Contemporary Law and as Research Coordinator for Pro Bono Students Canada. She also worked at the TRU Community Legal Clinic, where she assisted low-income individuals with a variety of legal matters and helped facilitate access to justice.

Casandra is a member of the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society and has volunteered as a lawyer with Access Pro Bono.
